The first time I saw Carrie Nelson’ Summer Moon quilt, I knew it was a must-make.
I liked the two versions shown with the book, but I always enjoy adding my own spin to projects (I’m one of those quilters :)!)
So I was thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of a quiltalong using the book and my choice of fabrics.
After agonizing for days, I went my tried-and-true method. I want this quilt to have a scrappy feel, and I may do a rainbow/color-progression approach.
So, I scouted available options & fell in love with Pat Bravo’s Matchmade collection.
Using these colors as my starting point, I added Pat’s Legendary group to the mix.
To tie it all together, I knew I needed some neutral background options so I’m adding in this array of DecoStitch Elements.
And here it is all together:
This is my starting point. I’m sure I’ll add in some other prints along the way and likely subtract some that I find don’t work well.
The key, however, is to get started.
If you want to join in the fun with us, make sure to order book and start planning your fabrics. I’ll be back May 27 to share my first blocks.
