Can you believe another year has gone by & we’re ready to launch the 2019 edition of the Designer Duo Quiltalong?
This fun event is co-hosted by me & Nancy Rink.
The theme this year is “Mix It Up” because we’re presenting you options that you can mix and match to create your dream quilt.
Nancy and I each started with two different 18″ blocks, and four different 6″ blocks. Then we each mixed in ANY eleven 12″ blocks of our choosing.
If you’re wondering how you can Mix It Up, I played with block options in EQ8 and then I played with color arrangements until I got to the color progression arrangement that you see in my quilt. (Get your own EQ8 software here and get 20% off with my discount code of “EQ8SARAH”.)
Here’s how an early version of my quilt looked:
Nancy combined her Do The Math and Getting to Know Hue collections and I mixed together my Prettiful Posies and Sew Sweet batiks.
The pattern is available in this cool booklet that features BOTH quilts:
You can order the pattern booklet from my brick & mortar store, or Hancock’s of Paducah. Kits are available for Sarah & Nancy’s versions:
We also invited FIVE guest designers to join us! I cannot wait for you to see the fantastic quilt they have created. Tiffany Hayes of Needle in a Hayes Stack, Karen O’Connor of Lady K Quilts, Dolores Smith of Timeworn Toolbox, Elisabeth Hardy of Elisabewquilts, and Giuseppe Ribaudo, aka Giucy Giuce will be quilting along with us and showcasing their fabric and block choices, sewing tips, and giving away some goodies.
Please join us! Bookmark everyone and be sure to join our Designer Duo Facebook Group.
