Haven’t the weeks flown by? We’re ready to work on our alternate blocks that tie the whole quilt together.
How many of you have worked ahead & been assembling these as you go?
Block 7 features one of my favorite units–Peaky & Spike.
This combination of triangles has many different names but I’ve always known it as “Peaky and Spike” thanks to some quilt classes from the late Doreen Speckman years ago.
Don’t be intimidated by this block. There are several tools that you can use to cut the units so they stitch together perfectly.
My go-to is the Tri-Recs ruler.
This ruler combo has those blunted corners that I love. Be sure to nip your pieces according to whatever ruler you are using, and your blocks should turn out great.
Be sure to visit the other designers participating for tips about their preferred tools & methods for this block.
