It’s time for Block 6.
I’m a little behind . . . is anyone else?
It’s been a busy few weeks.
I recently went to Paducah and saw the Designer Duo quilts hanging at Hancock’s of Paducah.
Hancock’s of Paducah is one of our partner shops & you if you’re just getting started on our quiltalong, you can order a kit from there..
Month 6 features a fun star design. I love using half square triangles to create diamond shapes–no y-seams but still a complex look.
I’ve been busy with lots of secret sewing. Not being able to share any of it right now is k-i-l-l-i-n-g me. But soon, or soon-ish.
Since I can’t talk about what’s on the cutting table, I thought I might share what I enjoy working with.
It’s always funny how one person enjoys a certain aspect of the quiltmaking process and another person detests that part but enjoys something else.
For me, one of my favorite parts is rotary cutting. I truly enjoy the process of cutting up pieces of fabric for future sewing. My OLFA rotary cutter has always been my go-to notion. The 60mm cutter and I have had a long love affair.
Then, recently, OLFA introduced the 45mm SPLASH cutters and coincidentally they come in my favorite shades.
Paired with the Endurance blades, these cutters are must-haves.
Be sure to check out what all my friends are doing with Block 4: Nancy Rink and then our other guest designers, Tiffany Hayes and Lady K Quilts.
