We’re ready for block 2 of the Designer Duo Quiltalong.
I love this block because it gave me another chance to use my Raise Your Glass text print.
Block 2 looks like it is composed of diamonds but it actually is made from triangle units to create that effect–finding easy ways to piece shapes that look hard is one of my favorite things!
This block starts with triangles, but instead of sewing them together on the long side, you sew them along a short edge like this. Be sure to refer to the pattern to verify how to orient your triangles.
This block features lots of pieces but they fit together so beautifully that it wasn’t stressful at all.
Ever since I got my OLFA Splash rotary cutters in fun colors, I keep finding reasons to match my notions to my project.
And here’s Block 2:
Be sure to visit all the other designers for their tips & tricks. Friends sewing along include the other part of the duo: Nancy Rink and then our other guest designers, Tiffany Hayes and Karen O’Connor.
If you’re sewing along with us, be sure to post your finished block on either Instagram, Facebook or both. Tag your post with #DesignerDuoQAL and you’ll be entered to win a prize. We’ll have prizes each week so be sure to post your pics.
